Texas Christmas Extravaganza...

... is over. Its been a blast. On Saturday we went to my Nana and Papa's house for a traditional (in our family) Christmas feast - pizza. Yum. And then presents, followed by dessert and Texas State Championship Football at my Uncle Scott's and Aunt Margaret's house.

Then Christmas eve with Mom, Dad and Cara. And Christmas morning - Santa never fails. This year his elves were hard at work converting some classic Godzilla films to DVD :

Godzilla Raids Again and Mothra vs. Godzilla.

Cool.

I also got some cool new books, which I'll put on my "Currently Reading" list once I get started on them.

On Christmas afternoon we went to my Mammaw and Grandpa's house in Ranger - we ate turkey and dressing. Yum. And had more presents. Woohoo!

And today I rounded things off with a trip to the stockyards. I rode one of those electric bucking bulls - briefly. Quang caught it on digital camera, and you'll probably see it here soon.

That's it for now.

Back in Texas!

...and the weather's great. Home is always a good place to be.

But...

I still have few papers to finish.

One of them by Friday.

Sigh. No FF12 just yet.

Working at Forbes

I've spent the last few days working at the Forbes Library in Northampton, just up the street from my house, near Smith College. Somehow I failed to come here until this week. It's really a nice place.

Montreal Pictures

As promised, though late, some pictures from my trip to Montreal:

Me on a bridge overlooking the area I was staying in. The pale complexion is an illusion due to the bright camera flash. Really. I swear.

Meg traipsing through a Montreal neighborhood.

Note the characteristic Montreal-style apartment buildings lining the road, with external stairs --- great fun in the icy months!

Jeans Jeans Jeans - a jungle of jeans.

More pictures to come.

In other news, it snowed today in Northampton - winter has finally hit. The charm of snow has worn off. I want to go back to Texas and hang Christmas lights in my shorts.
